The Yokohama BayStars edged the Seibu Lions 2-1 in Game 6 at Yokohama Stadium on Monday to claim the 1998 Japan Series four games to two, their first title since 1960.

With the BayStars having won the first two games
9-4 and 4-0 in Yokohama, the Lions came back with 7-2 and 4-2 victories at home before being humiliated by Yokohama 17-5 at Seibu Dome on Saturday in Game 5.
