Giants capture 19th Japan Series Title
By Ken Marantz, Daily Yomiuri -- In a matchup billed as a showdown between two kings of Japanese baseball, the Yomiuri Giants regained the throne by defeating the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks in six games.
Hideki Matsui homered and drove in four runs as the Giants clobbered the Hawks 9-3 Saturday night in Game 6 to win their 19th Japan Series title and first since 1994. Oct. 29:
