RL Special Rules

The DH Rule - the designated hitter is allowed, but quite often teams let their pitchers bat.

The "Home Run" Rule - applies to the SKA-29 Stadium in Balashikha. Since its first-base foul line is too short, an additional "Home Run" pole is erected exactly 250 feet from home plate. All fair fly balls hit to the right of the pole are ground-rule doubles only.

The Imports Rule - a RL team may have any number of foreign players on its roster, but only two imports may be used in any particular game. Beginning with the 1998 season the limit is three foreign players per each game.

The 10-Run KO Rule - the game ends by a knockout when: 1) the visiting team is ahead by 10 or more runs after at least seven (7) innings have been completed; 2) the home team is ahead by 10 or more runs after at least 6 1/2 full innings.

The 20-Run KO Rule - the game ends by a knockout when: 1) the visiting team is ahead by 20 or more runs after at least five  (5) innings have been completed; 2) the home team is ahead by 10 or more runs after at least 4 1/2 full innings.

The 30 Minutes Rule - when a team has less than nine players at the appointed hour for beginning the game, the team is granted additional 30 minutes for its players to report before the game is forfeited to the opponent.
