| Alexandr Nizov's sacrifice fly in the 4th inning gave him 36 RBIs for the season, one more then Evgeny Puchkov's single-season mark.
Nizov, who entered the game with 33 ribbies, tied the record with a two-run single to left off Ilia Sorokin (1-3) earlier in the inning before connecting on a Alexandr Muratov pitch for a flyball to center, that scored Alexei Bakutkin from third. Puchkov, then the Moscow Red Devils cleanup hitter, drove in 35 runs in 23 games in 1995, while amassing a RL-record 50 hits. Nizov needed only 14 games and 30 hits to better the old feat, while his teammate Alexandr Fedorov was not far behind, having 33 RBIs himself. |
