| Andrei Bogatyrev pitched seven solid innings through drizzling rain to help SKV walk by the 78ers 18-5.
Despite terrible weather conditions, the righthander gave up only three earned runs on eight hits, walking three and striking out 10. The game, interrupted by three short rain delays, began immediately after a completion of a previously suspended game, which SKV also won by a score of 19-18. With two victories over MGU, SKV took sole possession of the second place. All the hell broke loose for the 78ers as they dropped the third game in a row to their main rivals. Three MGU hurlers gave up 18 runs on 11 walks and 14 hits, throwing only 98 of 183 pitches for strikes. It was only fitting, that 78er Dmitri Lukjyanchikov has broken his unprecedented 27-game hitting streak (over two seasons) in this game, going 0-for-4. Usually a left fielder, Lukjyanchikov went on a tear in May, hitting .500 in nine games. Since than he's been averaging a miserable .227. |
